As any babe can see, the cosmetic and skincare industry is huge – and on the cutting edge of science. This is both a good and a bad thing. So, we’re going to explain why - even with the technological advances that we’ve had – organic skincare and natural skincare is still one of the best options out there.
Sure, with the improvement of technology, we’ve seen a ton of awesome things. Like better cosmetics, serums and application tech. But the truth is, while researchers have been using a wide range of artificial substitutes in skin care products for ages – we’re becoming more and more educated on the implications of using non natural skincare products and DIY applications.
This babe, is a good thing. I mean sure, we do produce and take pride in the organic, natural skincare products that we can create – but there are tons of different solutions you can come up with (for things that we don’t have) that use nothing but natural products you’ve picked up from your local grocery store. With this in mind, let’s take a look at a few organic skin care ingredients that any DIY babe would want to take advantage of.
Lemon Juice Face Peel
Did you know that lemon juice is highly acidic? Of course you did – you just have to think about licking a lemon to remember that putty sour face we all get. It’s only good when it’s done with tequila. Well, the acids that are contained within it are highly beneficial to your bod – both inside and out. As an ingredient, when you mix it with other ingredients you’ll introduce a powerful antioxidant factor to your skin. But warning warning - using lemon juice without mixing it up with water is quite powerful – so DON’T just apply lemon juice to your face. In order to lower the risks of irritation, the high acidity and the sheer power of lemon, mix it up with warm water or other ingredients BEFORE you apply it.
This particular topical solution is going to peel off the dead skin cells, and it’s going to introduce a strengthening factor to your facial skin. You should let it dry out on your face before you rinse it off with warm water.
Baking Soda – Mother natures organic skincare solution for Acne
Acne can be a challenge no matter where you find it. But as difficult as it may be, our little friend baking soda may have the solution for. Baking soda has a ton of potent cleaning, anti-acid and irritation relief properties. But again, just like lemon juice, on it’s own Baking Soda can be a very powerful. Tone it down a few notches by mixing it up with warm water. Once you get it to a bit of a paste-like consistence then you can apply it to your face. Keep in mind that this is a powerful solution so don’t let it sit on your face for more than 15 minutes. Apply it to the affected areas and enjoy the benefits.
Honey – A Powerful Anti-Oxidant
This is one of our faves. While that sweet sugary flavor tastes great and helps heal our bod on the inside, you’ll be pleased to know that it can also heal your body on the outside. Combining honey with cucumber juice and aloe vera, for example, will create an incredibly powerful and entirely organic skin care product. What’ll this little concoction do? It’ll simultaneously take care of the dead skin cells by exfoliating them and introduce a powerful nutrient source for your skin. Combine this with the healing and moisturizing benefits of aloe and you have a very powerful product. The healing properties of both honey and aloe are why many of our own products are based off of this nifty combination.
Your Local Grocery Store is a Treasure Chest of Natural Skincare Ingredients
With a bit of research you’ll be surprised at how many natural ingredients can be used to create your very own DIY skin care products. So what’s the difference between our products and going to the grocery store? Research, added organic ingredients, essential oils and more. But if you’re in the mood for a bit of experimentation – use the 3 ingredients above as a starting point.
