Go-To Homemade Products For Skin Breakouts

Everyone has them; no one wants them, what could they be? Breakouts. You do your best each day to protect the skin you have, we slather face cream to sunscreen on to make sure our skin is as soft as it looks like in the movies or in magazines.

Everyone’s skin texture is different and some products that work for others, may not work for you. However, you’re in luck, today I am going to talk about my three go-to homemade products for pesky skin breakouts, which can help any skin type.

DIYs are becoming beyond popular with each new social platform that arrives, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. So to keep up with trends, skin care DIYs are a great place to start because there are so many products you can combine to make the ideal mixture for your skin.

To start off simple, try this laidback DIY facemask to prevent breakouts:

You will need:

  • 1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
  • 2-3 Tablespoons of Honey
  • Washcloth

Honey has a sweet taste, and cinnamon is a little spicy, so this may seem like they’re both something you want to avoid on your face but surprisingly, honey and cinnamon are a killer combo when it comes to banishing acne. Honey is a natural antibiotic and cinnamon has antimicrobial properties, so they both can help from bacteria getting out of hand.

What to do?

  1. Be sure to have exfoliated, clean and dry skin
  2. Mix the tablespoons of honey with the cinnamon
  3. Blend until they become a thick paste
  4. Apply the paste all over your face or as a spot treatment to certain breakout spots
  5. Leave on for 10-15 minutes
  6. Rinse off completely and pat your face dry with a clean washcloth

Another product that is great to use for breakouts is Aloe Vera Gel. Now, this isn’t a homemade DIY, but it is a product that many people have laying around the house. Typically, this gel is used for sunburns and/or to reduce swelling on the skin, but what you may not know is that Aloe works effortlessly with acne.

Not only can Aloe soothe your breakouts; it works as an anti-inflammatory, diminishing redness and puffiness. It has certain antibacterial properties that can help irritations on the skin. If you don’t have Aloe Vera lying around the house, you can pick it up online at the Organica Pure website. It is known for Nature’s versatile skin healer, so it is a staple for your skin care cabinet.

The last homemade tip that I have is an old age zit-zapping trick! This can help breakouts or just irritating pimples. The secret is lemon juice. Lemons are rich in vitamin C, which is good for all skin types. It can help exfoliate the skin and help dry out any blemish when used properly. Be sure to rinse off any lemon juice before going out in the sun, because it may make your skin sensitive.

Here is the recipe:

You will need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Couple cotton balls
  • Washed hands

What to do?

  1. Be sure to have exfoliated, clean, dry skin
  2. Either dab the cotton ball or your fingers in the lemon juice
  3. Apply directly to the breakout or blemish
  4. If it stings, add more water

Hopefully one of these tips can help you fix those breakouts! If not, don’t fret. Great skin comes with time and patience, but the more you work on it, the more confident you’ll be!
