Hey babe, we were sitting here over coffee thinking about all of the beautiful, natural, organic things Mother Nature has given us for healing and Aloe Vera became a topic. It’s been on our mind so, we wanted to talk about it and all the wonderful healing ability it has and give you a few DIY solutions for those oh-so-common problems.
Aloe Vera Gel is without a doubt one of the most popular ingredients found in skincare products. Yes, it’s one of our main ingredients too – we use 100% Organic Aloe Vera Gel as a base for much of what we do. But why do skincare brands and companies choose this ingredient? It’s because it delivers a ton of advantages in comparison to other artificially created skin care products – and is packed full of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, healing agents and nourishment for your bod. Let’s take a quick look at just some of the healing properties any Aloe Vera Gel is going to have.
The Science behind Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel comes from the Aloe plant, of course, being a smart babe you already knew that. This plant has been around for thousands of years. It grows in hot regions and is native to Central America. The hot and perfect conditions of Mexico help produce the best aloe vera in the world. What’s really neat is that the plant contains about 200 enzymes (good for you stuff), 75 nutrients (more good for you stuff), 20 minerals (even more good-for-you stuff), at least 18 amino acids (even more) and at least 12 vitamins. Whew. We’re outta breath.
That’s a ton of nourishing power in one plant. So what does this mean for you?
Aloe Vera Gel Contains Powerful Skin Care Properties
Using Aloe Vera gel on a regular basis is going to bring quite a lot of benefits to your skin. Jam-packed with all that goodness it can help heal a wide range of skin problems. For instance, if you have dry skin – “the Winter is coming”, the aloe vera gel is going to be a powerful moisture source which’ll hydrate your bod.
Aloe Vera Gel for Acne
We all get it. From hormones to body changes acne can be incredibly annoying. While there are a lot of solutions that can provide you with relief (think coffee scrub, sugar scrub, cocoa or even medical solutions – see your Doc for the last one) a lot of babes overlook aloe vera gel – thinking it’s only good for sunburns. Surprisingly it may be among one of the best solutions. Remember how many good-for-you things are inside? Now you can do this at home, or you can get an ah-ma-zing prod like ours, but think about blending Aloe Vera Gel with either honey (it has a ton of anti-oxidants) or walnuts (walnut flower, or extremely fine crushed walnuts). What you’ve created is a scrub that’s packed with all types of ingredients to help you overcome this skin condition. Simply wet the area, and gently scrub your scrub (DIY or bought) onto the area. Rinse and repeat ever 2 days or so until it’s gone.
Aloe Vera Gel for Sensitive Skin
So many of us have sensitive skin. From bikini rashes to dry skin or heat rashes, they’re really an annoying and common problem. With hot summers and cold winters aloe vera gel is again a great way to help us with this. Here’s how to create your own aloe vera gel blend for maximum sensitive skin benefit. You can us 100% organic Aloe Vera Gel and mix it up with yogurt (unflavored plain yogurt beats Strawberry in this case), rose oil and cucumber juice. If you’d rather skip on the dairy, you can create this little mix without it too. Blend them all together (or just mix it up) until you get a paste-like consistency. Now you can apply it to that rash or sensitive area. You should leave the solution to stay for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. You can repeat this for a few times every week, and should see the results in terms of relief of your sensitive skin.
However you decide to use aloe vera gel – on its own or in your own DIY mixture – know that it’s filled with positive benefits.
